| 内容記述 | [概要]詩人ジョン・ミルトンに影響を受けた後世の芸術家たちは，ミルトンの作品をモチーフとして，数々の新たな作品を生み出してきた。本稿では，ミルトン作品が，18世紀から現代にいたるまで，音楽的に変化し，受容されてきたかを「ハーモニー」というキーワードを中心に論じていく。ハイドン・ヘンデルの楽曲とマーク・モリスの舞台を取り上げつつ，「ことば」と「 おと」の芸術としてのミルトンの詩がどのように後世に残っていったかを探る。 [Abstract] Numerous artists of later generations, who were influenced by the poet John Milton, have created new works using Milton’s works as motifs. In this thesis, I will discuss how Milton’s works have been musically transformed and accepted from the 18th century through to the present day, focusing on the keyword "harmony." By presenting arguments based on the music of Haydn and Handel, along with Mark Morris’ stage performances, I will explore how Milton’s poetry, as an art form of "lyrics" and "sounds," has survived across the generations. |
