| 内容記述 | [概要] 本論文では, ゼミを志望する学生の評価方法について述べる。ゼミを志望する学生の大学での成績データを, 少数の指標に統合する方法については,既に実際のデータを使って分析を行い, その結果をまとめた[3]。 筆者のゼミでは, 入ってくる学生に, 最低限必要な数学的素養を要求しているため, 大学での成績指標とは別に, 数学的な素養をみるための簡単な試験を行っている。選考に当たっては, これら二種類のデータに更に, 面接の評価を加味している。本論文では, 大学での種々の成績データを統合した数値(主成分得点)と, 数学的素養を見るための選考試験の点数という二種類の指標をどのように使えば, 筆者のゼミに適合する学生を選べるかを実際のデータをもとに考察する。 [Abstract] This paper deals with an Evaluation of Applicants for a seminar. Students of my seminar class are required to have a basic knowledge of mathematical thinking and to have motivation for study. To confirm applicants' knowledge of mathematical thinking, I examine them in arithmetic and elementary mathematics. To confirm motivation for study, I use PCA (Principal Component Analysis) of results from various courses applicants have taken. This PCA score is a direct index of applicants' motivation for study. Even if an applicant receives a good score on the mathematics examination, a low PCA score for motivation would suggest that the applicant will not do his or her best work in the seminar. | |||||||||
