This paper uses as its materials for comparative analysis the fillers that appear in the Japanese film Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and the Korean subtitles that correspond to them. Firstly, it surveys the role of fillers in language that was previously revealed in earlier research. Then, it quotes all of the instances of fillers in the Japanese dialogue of the film, and presents the dictionary definition and the frequency of their occurrence. It finds as a result that roughly 55% of the fillers that are used in Japanese lines are lost in the Korean subtitles. In the analysis, the role and the meaning of fillers used in Japanese lines are shown.
