Recently, liquefaction damage occurred in Urayasu City in Chiba Prefecture, which was far away from the hypocenter of the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake. On the other hand, in Mie prefecture, within the next 30 years the probability of occurrence of a large earthquake of M8 ~ M9 with the Nankai-Trough was raised to around 70 ~ 80%in 2018. In order to prepare for the Nankai-Trough earthquake that is expected to occur in the future, the author conducted a model test using a small shaking table about the liquefaction phenomenon. And the basic experiments were carried out on the liquefaction phenomena by variously changing the input earthquake wave, vibration frequency, and the model ground. The authors have already reported the reinforcement effect when the bolt-type reinforcements are inserted in the ground.
