| 内容記述 | [概要] 英語学習辞書(英和辞書および英英辞書)における発音記号は英語の発音体系を論理的に学ぽうとする学習者にとって有益なツールである。しかし, それぞれの学習辞書が採用している発音表記の方法にばらつきがあるため, 学習者は発音記号の習得にとまどうことが多い。このことが英語教育において発音記号が十分に活用されていないひとつの原因ではないかと筆者は考える。本論においては, 現在出版されている内外の英語学習辞書における二重母音と三重母音の音声表記を比較対象し, その異同の性質の分析に基づいて, 英語学習にとって合理的な発音表記の体系について考察する。 [Abstract] For learners who aim at a clear and logical understanding of the English pronunciation system, phonetic symbols provided in learners' English dictionaries can be a powerful tool if they are properly used. However, it often happens that Japanese learners become confused by the variation of phonetic symbols between dictionaries, which can cause them to give up learning the symbols. This can also hinder effective utilization of phonetic symbols in English classes in Japan. This paper surveys the variation of phonetic transcriptions from samples of learners' English dictionaries currently published in Japan and abroad, and compares details of transcriptions of diphthongs and triphthongs, aiming to produce a more accessible and educationally fertile table of phonetic symbols. | |||||||||
