| 内容記述 | 山陽鉄道の創業期の経営を担ったのは中上川彦次郎である。彼は長期的経済性をめざして事業を遂行したが, これは円滑な資金調達が前提であった。したがって明治23年の恐慌が起こると, その循環はうまく機能せず, 株主との対立が顕著になった。その結果, 中上川は退陣し, これに代って松本重太郎が経営を引き受けた。しかし松本社長の時代も, 中上川流の合理的経営が展開された。その原因は時の実務者集団が, 中上川との聞に理念的親和性があったからである。その中心となったのが支配人の牛場卓蔵である。そこで牛場卓蔵が山陽鉄道に係わる契機を検討し, 彼が展開する経営姿勢を読み解くことによって, 山陽鉄道の経営の特色を析出した。 （英文） Hikojiro Nakamigawa, the founder of Sanyo Railway, pursued longterm economical efficiency of the company. This could be taken effect by timely financing the business. However, it ceased to be in effect by depression in 1890. Then opposition occurred between stockholders and management over its policies. As a result, Nakamigawa retired from the management and Jutaro Matsumoto undertook the presidency, even though the management concept of Sanyo Railway remained unchanged. The reasons why the concept remained unchanged were because the managers had an affinity toward Nakamigawa. The chief manager at that time was Takuzo Usiba. Because of this I reviewed the career and life history of Usiba, searching for the management characteristics of the Sanyo Railway Company. | |||||||||
