These projects were as follows: reclamation projects, construction of a new industrial zone, revitalizing depopulated regions, and improvement of roads and railway networks as industrial infrastructure. In these public projects, road network improvement was given higher priority by local governments and came to play the leading role in local public projects because road network was essential for economic activities and regional development. 内容記述 | 高度成長期の島根県においては, 国の長期経済計画や総合開発計画に依拠して, 県経済の発展と地域開発のため積極的に事業を展開した。小論では, 食糧増産対策としての干拓事業, 工業開発拠点形成としての新産業都市建設事業, 人口減少地域振興としての過疎対策事業, 産業基盤である道路・鉄道の整備について検討する。これらの事業の中で最も成果を上げたのは道路整備であり, 県勢発展の最大の基盤としての地位を築いた。また, 60年代後半の長期にわたるいざなぎ景気を経過して, 島根県は県下全域に及ぶ過疎地域の振興を図るとともに, 高速自動車道・新幹線鉄道など全国高速交通ネットワークの誘致に取り組み得る時代を迎えた。 (英文) In the high economic growth era, a number of public projects were undertaken to promote economic activities and regional development in Shimane prefecture.
