In this study, we examined neurobehavioral characteristics in offspring naturally delivered from dams treated with cytosine arabinoside (cytosine-β-D-arabino furanoside ; Ara-C) to elucidate the association between the prenatal exposure to chemicals and the behavioral disorder. In the open field test, Ara-C prenatally exposed offspring showed a higher activity than control mice （p<0.05）. The inhibitory avoidance response in elevated T-maze test and the freezing response in elevated plat-form test was significantly increased in the Ara-C exposed mice compared to the control mice（p<0.05 or p<0.01）. On the other hand, the memory performance in passive avoidance test did not significantly differ between control and Ara-C exposed groups. The concentration of dopamine and serotonin in the brain was significantly increased in Ara-C exposed compared mice to the control mice（ｐ<0.05 or ｐ<0.01）.
