Adhesion strength of DLC film to a substrate, however, is not so strong, because the misfit of the lattice constant between the substrate and the film. In this reason, an application of DLC film is frequently limited. In this research, we developed the method of improving adhesion by forming the buffer layer between a substrate and a DLC film to relieve the misfit.
