 note = {[Abstract] Aquaculture businesses — those of amberjacks and red sea breams — were analyzed based on "Report of Statistical Survey on Fishery Management- published by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. Chapter I discusses corporations and Chapter II discusses individual operators in A: scale of business, B: revenue and expenditure, C: asset structure, and D: correlation between assets and capital liabilities. Management entities of aquaculture businesses were analyzed and it disclosed their revenue and expenditure, the fact that the total of their assets and liabilities exceed those of 50-100 ton vessel capture fishery, positive profit per kg, and high current assets in asset structure. Analysis of individual operators illustrated the following; their revenue from the farm raising of amberjack exceeds that from the taking of 30-50 ton vessel capture fishery; their revenue from the farm raising of red sea breams matches that from the taking of 20-30 ton vessel capture fishery; and their profit per kg is positive. Chapter III focuses on the revenue and expenditure in aquaculture of amberjacks and red sea breams only and comparison between regions was made. Individual operators in Shikoku region are less dependent to employers and they are profitable with aquaculture of red sea breams in addition to amberjacks with higher price. Individual operators in Kyusyu region are highly dependent to employers. They are considered to be small scale businesses with low profitability, which rely on supplementary income to turn a profit. Regional difference of red sea bream aquaculture among Kyusyu, Tokai and Shikoku is not very large in the number of persons at work and the number of business days, however, regional difference is substantial in the area of fish farms, profits, and state of side works., application/pdf},
