These vibration can be considered as the effect of long-period ground motion. On the other hand, base isolate building is also a structure with long-period similar to the high-rise building. Therefore, in this paper, the safety of a base isolate building for the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake is investigated by the response analysis. A 6-story building with base isolate system is selected as an example of base isolate buildings. This building is modeled by seven mass system with sway spring. The characteristics of the seismic waves obtained big displacement response are analyzed by the spectrum.
