Eight species of cicada were recorded on the Nara Campus. The most dominant species was Graptopsaltia nigrofuscata, and the second dominant species was Platypleura kaempferi. Two species, Cryptotympanata fucialis and Cicadetta radiator, were rare. Terpnosia vacua emerged in the spring and inhabited the pine forest.
