 note = {Ratoon crop maturation and weed flora were observed in an abandoned paddy field of rice, Oryza sativa ssp. japonica, in Nara Prefecture, central Japan.　The presence of weed flora, which included perennial species such as Andropogon virginicus and Solidago altissima, supported the fact that two years had passed since any agricultural management had occurred, as confirmed by an interview with a few farmers.
