| 内容記述 | During the winter, 1979/1980 and 1980/1981, microclimatic observations were carried out in sharply sloping loquat orchards under the hilly coastal terraces in Muroto, Kochi Prefecture, and so the fruit temperatures of early ripening loquat cultivars were surveied with daily fluctuation of air temperature by thermopile. The main results of the present study were outlined as follows. Microclimate around planting site, wind direction and air temperature, appeared to be delicate variation. The land form and aspect of loquat orchard were important factors in varying the degree of cold-injury and frost-damage according to location. In genaral, the embryos and young seeds in the frozen fruit at lower fruit temperature than - 3.1°C were damaged in early winter especially. The fruit were sustained frost-damage when they were exposed to wide daily fluctuation in air temperature. That is, the raised day temperature of young fruit due to solar radiation fell rapidly during 4～6 hours after sun-set and so it was about 0.7°C lower in minimum than the temperature of fruit under the foliage. Frost-damages of the young fruit of eariest ripening cultivar were prevented by shading with white plastic lawn not to be exposed to solar radiation. | |||||||||||||||||
