| 内容記述 | [Author abstract]We placed 18 model prawn pots in the south-basin fishing ground of Lake Biwa, Japan, to obtain basic data on how the physical environmental conditions such as waves affects the amount of catch. Pots without bait were set on the bottom with intervals of about 1 m at depths about 1.5-2.5 m. Each pot was hauled up 23 h after the beginning of the experiment (10 a.m. until 9 a.m. the next day) and the number of prawns in each was counted. The wave magnitude was recorded continuously for 15 min with the aid of a pressure gauge set on the bottom. We found that the amount of catch was affected by waves.
