| 内容記述 | [Author abstract]The most suitable body size for amago salmon for use as a brood stock was investigated. The subjects weighted 200 to 1000 g or more, and were grouped into 200-g weight categories. Brood stocks should produce many large, viable eggs. We studied, in each body-weight categories, total egg weight per fish, mean egg weight per fish, mean number of eggs per 100 g of body weight, and mean egg weight in relation to the total number of eggs. Fish weighting 200 to 400 g were not ideal because most eggs produced by these fish were very small, although there was a large number of eggs per 100 g of body weight. As a rule, eggs are smaller when more eggs are produced. However, fecundity and the mean egg weight rose as body weights entered the category of 400 to 600 g. Still, results in this weight category were not optimal. The maximum mean egg weight (162 mg) was detected in one fish weighting 645 g. Fish in the categories of 800 to 1000 g or larger tended to have more eggs than the smaller fish, but the increase in the number of eggs with increased weight of the fish was less than that in the smaller fish. These results showed that amago salmon for use as a brood stock should weight between 600 and 800 g.[著者抄録]1) 採卵を行った182尾の親魚の体重、卵重、抱卵数、1粒平均卵重や単位体重当りの卵数を基に、抱卵数からみた好適な親魚の大きさについて検討を試みた。2) 体重が300g程度の小型親魚に卵数の多い個体があり、400gに近い個体では卵数は少ないので、400g未満の個体には著しい小卵を産出する可能性があると思われた。3) 体重が400gから600g前後では、体重の増大とともに全卵重量、卵数、1粒平均卵重や単位体重当りの卵数も大きくなったが、より大きな個体ではそれらの値はいずれも小さくなる傾向がみられた。4) １粒平均卵重の最大は162mgで、その個体の体重は645g、抱卵数は1,145粒であった。5) 体重800-1,000g、あるいは1,000g以上になると、体重の増加とともに増大してきた全卵重量や平均卵重は増加傾向が緩くなった。6) 以上から400g未満は親魚としては不適で、800g以上は飼育経費からみても合理的ではないので、600-800gが最も好ましい大きさと思われた。 | |||||||||||||||||||||
