| 内容記述 | Moths of Saturniidae were observed in the Nara Campus of Kinki University, halfway up the Yata Hill with coppice, in Nara Prefecture in central Japan. Following seven species of moths of Sarurniidae were recorded.1.Anttheraea yamamai yamamai (Guerin-Meneville) Adult emergence: August-September (One generation) Larva emergence: April-July Food plants: Quercus serrata, Q. acutissima, Q. glauca, Lithocarpus edulis, Castanopsis cupidata, Myrica rubra2.Saturnia jonasii jonasii Butler Adult emergence: Larva emergency: Food plants: 3.Saturnia japonica japonica (Moore) Adult emergence: September-October (One generation)4.Rhodinia fugax fugax (Butler) Adult emergence: November (One generation) Larva emergency: April-July Food plants: Quercus serrata, Q. acutissima, Q. variabilis, Zelkova serrata, Castanea crenata, Celtis sinensis, Prunus yedoensis, P. jamasakura5.Samia cynthia pryeri (Butler) Adult emergence: May-June and August (Tow generation) Larva emergency: June-July and September-October Food plants: Ilex rotunda, Paulownia tomentosa, Zantoxylum ailanthoides6.Actias artemis aliena Butler Adult emergence: April-May and July-August (Tow generation) Larva emergency: May-June and August-September Food plants: Alnus japonica, A. Sieboldiana7.Actias gnoma gnoma (Butler) Adult emergence: April-May and July-August (Two generation) Larva emergency: May-June and August-September Food plants: Alnus japonicaThe natural enemies of these moths were parasitic wasps, spiders and wild birds such as crows. The significance of moths of Saturniidae in the coppice was discussed. | |||||||||||||
