| 内容記述 | A total of 193 patients with pertussis syndrome who visited Kinki University Hospital from January 1979 to December 1980 was studied. Pertussis occurred frequently in summer and autumn. Ages ranged from 2 months to 10 years old. Eighty percents (177/193) of patients were under 4 years. Five patients were admitted to the hospital, 3 of them had pneumonia and the others had apneic attack repeatedly. Peripheral white blood cell counts were over 15,000/mm^3 in many cases, but in some caseselder patients-often under 8,000/mm^3. White blood cell counts rose in the 1st week of illness and turned to the normal level in a month. Agglutination titer for Bordetella Pertussis was low in the 1st week of illness, increased in the 2nd-3rd week and then came to the highest mark (mean titers ×80) in the 8th week. This level was kept for months thereafter. In many patients of under one year old agglutination titer did not rise. | |||||||||||||||||
