内容記述 | In December 2010, a young man in his twenties who was selling vegetables on the streets in Tunisia committed suicide by self-immolation because his stall was confiscated by police. In Islam, burning oneself means losing one’s body when the soul is resurrected. This was the beginning of “the Arab Spring”, then, anti-government demonstrations and strikes spread throughout Tunisia. It was reported in many media that this political change was shifting from “the authoritarian system”, which is common in Middle Eastern countries, to “the democratic system”. At that time, “SNS(Social Network Service)” and “Al Jazeera”, a satellite broadcast representing the Middle East, reported on the state of large-scale protests in real time. Now, 10 years after “the Arab Spring”, if you look at the situation after that in the Arab countries, you can see that they have not come to the conclusions such as “authoritarian collapse” and “establishment of democratic government”. Many people have expected “Arab Spring” with the image of “collapse the authoritarian system and establish a democratic system”. Then, I would like to discuss why it is so different from the reality, considering the current situation of Arab countries. | |||||||||
