| 内容記述 | [要旨] 重化学工業を地域の中核企業とする地方工業都市は，戦後の日本経済発展に大きく寄与するとともに，それぞれの地域経済の発展においても重要な存在であった。しかし，その後の全国的な産業構造の転換とともに次第に発展にも翳りがみられるようになり，人口の減少も顕著になっている。それでも，現在もなお大企業の大規模製造拠点を維持し，一定の人口規模を有するこれら工業都市は，地域経済にとっては重要な拠点都市であり続けている。本稿では，代表的な地方工業都市として山陽地方の沿岸工業都市をとりあげ，人口の推移や地域経済の循環構造を比較し，拠点都市としての存続可能性を検討した。その結果，製造業でも基礎資材型だけでなく機械工業などより付加価値の高い業種への拡大が進むことや，地域としてある程度の人口規模を有する圏域を確保して産業の多様性と域内経済の循環を高めることが望ましいことを指摘した。 [Abstract] This paper discusses the sustainability of local industrial cities as a base city for the region, by investigating the transition of population and the circulation structure of the regional economy by considering several cities in the Sanyo coastal region as a typical example of this city type. The results brought out are as follows. First, the manufacturing industry in these cities should consist of basic material types and higher value-added types such as the machinery industry. In addition, these cities should keep a specific population size in this region and secure industrial diversity, thereby increasing the regional circulation of the economy. |
