We then demonstrated that middle-molecular-weight-heparinylphenylalanine suppressed intractable pain possibly through selective blockade of RAGE. Our in silico analysis identified a small molecule compound that inhibits AGE-RAGE binding and is useful as a seed compound for novel RAGE blocker development.
