| 内容記述 | [Abstract] The analysis and presentation of the close relationship between expressions and the cultures implied there in is often used as a methodology of language and culture education. This is the natural attitude of foreign language education and interpretation in academia. This paper analyzes how the elements of foreign language and culture are realized in another language by comparing and contrasting the original Japanese lines of the film Let Me Eat Your Pancreas with the Korean subtitles appended afterward. Also, the analysis makes use of the two methods of subtitle translation with respect to the way they deal with the representation of foreign language and culture, namely foreignization and domesticating. This research is not only valuable for improving cross cultural understanding, but also for improving practical education in translating and subtitling. | |||||||
