| 内容記述 | [ABSTRACT] We worked out a new endonasal operation ( transsubmucosal maxilloethmoidal sinus surgery through the inferior turbinate) for chronic sinusitis and presented the theoretical ground and the outline of the operation method. The operation yielded a satisfactory result with a good postoperative clinical progress and no complication. When the progress was followed by classifying changes in the maxillary sinus after 1 year into 5 types, better pneumatization was seen in the case where the mucosal membrane of the maxillary sinus was kept intact, whereas various changes occurred in the case where the mucosal membrane of the maxillary sinus was removed. In an immunohistological investigation, immunological staininng of the mucosal membrane of the inferior turbinate and the mucosal membrane around the natural ostia was conducted using monoclonal mouse anti-human mast cell tryptase (Daco-Mast Cell, AA 1 ). As a result of examination on the cases divided by the presence or absence of allergy involvement, it was found that there was no significant difference. It may be concluded from these results that this new operation is useful for chronic sinusitis irrespective of the presence or absence of allergy involvement. | |||||||||
