The fruit, containing various nutrients including vitamins, is expected to be applied to functional food. Since abundant iron is also included in the fruit, we examined change in the blood components of 8 high school females after the regular intake of sea buckthorn beverage for one month. Significant increases in the number of erythrocyte in blood and the densities of hemoglobin and serum iron were found after the daily ingestion.
