It has a prosperous post town since ancient times, along the Hase Kaido road. Nabari city since the beginning of modern times, many people and goods were distributed by the development of transportation. Even after world warⅡ, residential land development was actively carried out and the population continued to increase, but in recent years the population of Nabari City has been decreasing. As a result, vacant houses have increased in Nabari City, and many stores along the Hase Kaido road losing the bustle of the past. In this paper, focusing on the old town of Nabari City, we investigated the stores using the telephone directory in Mie prefecture, which is owned by the author, in addition to the personal and credit records issued from Meiji to the early Showa era.
