However, these methods suffer from certain disadvantages, such as slow reaction rates, low yields, high boiling solvents. Recently, it has become clear that several ionic liquids dissolve both porphyrins and metal salts. Herein, we reported that metalation of TPP utilizing ionic liquids. In [C8mim][Br], Cu(Ⅱ)-TPP complex is obtained 79 % yields.
