内容記述 | [Abstract]The current study investigated possible effects of a semester study abroad program on university students’ language skills as well as motivation and attitude. Students’ linguistic gains were measured using TOEIC listening and reading, and speaking and writing tests whereas their motivational and attitudinal changes were measured using an originally developed questionnaire. The result of a one-way ANOVA showed a significant effect of study abroad on all four skills, yet no significant changes in motivation and attitude. Although result showed greater gain in writing and speaking made than reading and listening did, neither writing nor speaking gains correlated with any other skill gains. The result of multiple regression analysis indicated that some aspects of motivation and attitude prior to departure successfully predicted improvement on reading and speaking, but not on listening or writing. | |||||||||
