| 内容記述 | 戦国時代に日本の首都圏であった畿内近国を対象として、拠点的な城郭の構造や機能の分析を行った。その結果、山上に生活拠点を移す傾向が国人クラスで先行し、守護クラスの広域権力がそれを凌駕する築城を行ったことを明らかにした。こうした傾向は戦乱への備えにとどまらず、城主が自らの権威を誇示する目的で推進されたと考えられる。山城の拠点化は戦国期に固有の現象だが、築城にみる階層性や権威性の誇示といった発想は後代に受け継がれたと展望することができる。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This study analyzed the structure and function of castles in Kinai and nearby areas, which were the capital region of Japan during the Warring States period. As a result, it was revealed that the tendency to move the base of life to mountain tops was first seen among kokujin class, and then the shugo class with broad-reaching authority constructed castles that surpassed them. This trend was not only promoted in preparation for war, but also by castle lords for the purpose of demonstrating their authority. While the use of mountain castles as bases was a phenomenon unique to the Warring States period, it can be expected that the idea of demonstrating hierarchy and authority seen in castle construction was passed down to later generations. | |||||||||
