| 内容記述 | 【要旨】近年, コーポレートガバナンス改革に革新的な上場企業は, 取締役会に女性取締役を積極的に登用している。一方で, 炭素関連のリスクと機会に対する投資家の情報ニーズによって, 上場企業は炭素排出量の管理とその情報開示を求められている。企業の取締役会における女性取締役の存在, 炭素排出量削減, および炭素開示の品質の関係が明らかになることで, これらの取り組みへの効率的な資源配分につながる可能性がある。しかし, この問題について先行研究の決定的な結論は見られない。そこで, このギャップを埋めるために, 本研究は, 企業の取締役会における女性取締役の存在, 炭素排出量削減, および炭素開示の品質との関係を, 文献レビューを用いて検討している。先行研究は, クリティカルマス理論や取締役資本概念を用いて, 一定数の女性取締役が取締役会に存在することが, 炭素排出量削減や炭素開示の品質向上と結びつくことを説明している。本研究は, 取締役会における女性取締役の増加に関するコーポレートガバナンス改革が女性の平等の課題解決に寄与すること, また, 他のサステナビリティの課題にも正の波及効果をもたらす可能性があるという洞察を, 経営者, 市場関係者, および政策担当者に提供するであろう。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Recently, listed companies innovative in corporate governance reforms have been observed to actively appoint women directors to boards of directors. Parallelly, the information needs of investors regarding carbon-related risks and opportunities are driving listed companies to manage their carbon emissions and disclose them. Clarifying the relationship between the presence of women directors on corporate boards, carbon emission reductions, and carbon disclosure quality may allow a more efficient allocation of resources to these efforts. However, previous studies are not conclusive on this issue. Therefore, to fill this gap, this study investigates the relationship between the presence of women directors on corporate boards, carbon emission reductions, and carbon disclosure quality, using a literature review. Prior studies use critical mass theory and the concept of board capital to explain how the presence of a certain number of women directors on boards is associated with reduced carbon emissions and an improved carbon disclosure quality. This study will provide an insight to managers, market participants, and policy makers that corporate governance reforms to increase women directors on boards can help overcome women's equality challenges and may have positive spillover effects on sustainability. | |||||||||
