The levels of chromium (Cr) in adult human organs (120 samples) from forensic autopsy cases in Osaka Prefecture in 1986 were measured using a Zeeman atomic absorption spectrophotometer with a graphite atomizer. The data were compared with the Cr levels in the same kinds of materials determined ten years earlier. The mean values (μg/g wet weight) in 1986 were 0.015 for the heart, 0.013 for the liver and 0.016 for the kidneys. All levels were markedly lower than the measurements mode in 1976. |
