内容記述 Effects of indirect moxibustion stimulation on rat skin was investigated by thermal qualitative, biochemical and histological methods. The maximum temperature change by indirect moxibustion was about 65℃ on the skin, and at 45℃ in the subcutaneous layer. The temperature restoration in the subcutaneous layer took longer than that of the skin. Radical scavenging activities of moxa and moxa-tar were measured with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazl (DPPH), and obtained results indicate that the inhibitory effects of moxa and moxa-tar on superoxide production were due to the radical scavenging mechanism. The peroxidation of lipids in the skin of rat was studied by indirect moxibustion treatment. The treatment of indirect moxibustion was found to be associated with the decrease of lipid peroxidation in the skin. The histological findings after indirect moxibustion showed an increase in the number of the hair mother cells and hypertropy of the cells. It is suggested that the inflammatory process after indirect moxibustion influenced cutaneous metabolism due to the decrease of lipid peroxides.
