| 内容記述 | Lymphocyte subsets analysis was performed using bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and peripheral blood of patients with primary lung cancer, and immunological responses of tumor-bearing hosts were evaluated. In the peripheral blood of lung cancer patients, the lymphocyte count was significantly reduced with a decrease in CD4+ T cells among lymphocyte subsets as compared with healthy individuals. In the CD4+ T cell subset, CD4+CD29+ (helper, CD4+ memory) T cells and CD4+CD45RA+ (suppressor/inducer, naive) T cells were significantly reduced in the lung cancer patients. In the CD8+ T cell subset, CD8+CD28+ (immature cytotoxic) T cells were significantly reduced. However, activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells were increased in the lung cancer patients, suggesting that the tumor may have been recognized by the systemic immune system of the patients, and that lymphocytes may have migrated to the tumor. In the BALF of lung cancer patients, lymphocytes were significantly increased, and activated CD4+CD45RO+ (CD4+ memory) T cells were increased, as compared with the healthy controls. No significant difference was observed in the number of CD8+ T cells as compared with healthy controls, and the number of CD8+CD11b- (cytotoxic) T cells and CD8+CD45RO+ (CD8+ memory) T cells were similar to those in the healthy controls ; but their absolute number was increased. These findings suggest a reduction in systemic immunological competence due to depression of the immunosurveillance mechanism associated with the decrease in peripheral blood lymphocytes and enhancement of regional immunological competence in the lung. | |||||||
