The present study investigates the changes of hemodynamics at 37,33,29 and 25℃, and of lidocaine administration on hepatic blood flow, at each hypothermic state in dogs. Cardiac output significantly decreased from 2.66±0.26 at 37℃ to 1.45±0.10 l/min at 25℃ (p<0.01), hepatic blood flow decreased from 15.0±1.2 to 10.6±1.0 ALF unit (p<0.01) and mean arterial pressure decreased from 131±8 to 100±7 mmHg (p<0.01). Mean pulmonary arterial pressure, red cell count and hematocrit showed no significant change at 25℃ compared with those at 37℃. Maximum plasma concentration of monoethylglycinexylidide (lidocaine metabolite) increased at 25℃ (280±23 ng/ml) in comparison with that maximum concentration at 37℃ (144±18 ng/ml, p<0.01), and plasma lidocaine concentration was also higher at 25℃ (1.13±0.17 μg/ml) than at 37℃ (0.07±0.05 μg/ml, p<0.01). These findings indicate that decreased body temperature depresses hemodynamics in dogs, and that not only lidocaine but also MEGX concentrations were increased by cooling. |
