| 内容記述 | We report an 11-year-old boy who developed encopresis (involuntary defecation) (DSM-IV : 787.6 ; ICD-10 : F98.1) accompanied by chronic constipation. The boy began attending a nursing school from infancy and began to involuntarily leak feces on occasions such as special school events after the age of 3 years. This condition persisted after admission to elementary school and was exacerbated by severe corporal punishment by the teacher. The condition could be cured in a short period by explaining this disorder to his mother and the school staff and obtaining their cooperation, and asking the mother to treat the patient affectionately, and by supplementary antidepressant medication using a small dose of imipramine. | |||||||
