| 内容記述 | Along with the progress in the study of human brains, the structural, morphological, and functional differences between GID (gender identity disorder) patients and normal people have been greatly debated. In order to study the disease from a viewpoint of brain functions, the spatial cognitive ability of twenty-seven patients, who had not received hormone therapy, were tested using the MRT (mental rotation test). Our results showed significant differences between the male and female control groups, as described in other reports. Remarkable differences were also found between the MTF (male to female GID) patients and the female control group, between the FTM (female to male GID) patients and the male control group, between the MTF patients and the male control group, and between the FTM patients and the female control group. It was clarified that the ability of the MTF group was lower than that of ordinary males while that of the FTM group was higher than that of ordinary females regardless of their anatomical gender, suggesting GID patients are different from ordinary people. It is conceivable that this inspection may be useful in diagnosis. | |||||||
