| 内容記述 | The press-quenching method is widely utilized for the preparation of glass samples on a laboratory scale. This method is simple, but glass formation of compositions with low glass-forming ability requires significant operator skill. It has been reported that the stoichiometric composition of the bismuth-based high-temperature superconductor Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂Oₓ can form glass. However, due to the absence of typical glass-forming materials in its composition, proficient press-quenching techniques are required. In this study, we reevaluated the press-quenching process and developed a jig that enables glass formation in difficult compositions without requiring advanced technical skills. During the quenching process, melt is poured onto a horizontal metal plate and pressed with another metal plate. In our experiments, we streamlined this process into a single step. Two methods were tested: using twin rollers and sandwiching the melt between two stainless steel plates arranged in a V-shaped configuration. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that glass formation was achievable with both methods. However, it was concluded that the stainless-steel plate method is superior for sample preparation. | |||||||||
