| 内容記述 | Detection of urinary amidotrizoate, the main component of Gastrografin®, in dogs was studied to clarify clinical application of the Gastrografin® test in cases of perforated upper gastrointestinal tract. Adult mongrel dogs were orally or intraperitoneally administered Gastrografin® before and after artificial perforation of the anterior wall of the gastric angle to induced peritonitis, and the time course of excretion into the urine were measured. The urinary iodine concentration, iodine excretion into urine, cumulative iodine excretion into collected urine and the cumulative rate of iodine excretion into collected urine were markedly higher after i.p. administration than after oral administration. Similar increases in these parameters were observed after 12 hrs after peritonitis was induced by artifical perforation. However, urinary recovery of amidotrizoate was lower 24 hrs after inducing artifical perforation than 12 hrs after. These findings indicated that, in cases of upper digestive tract perforation, Gastrografin® was easily absorbed into the peritoneal cavity and detected in the urine. Thus, urinary excretion of amidotrizoate may be useful for early diagnosis of perforation within 12 hrs after onset. | |||||||||||||
