A 44 year-old woman with sclerosing hemangioma of the lung is reported. She was admitted to the hospital because of a coin lesion in the left middle lung field on chest X-ray in 1988. She had undergone right hemicolectomy for cancer of the ascending colon in 1986. On admission, there were no signs of malignancy on chest X-ray, bronchography or bronchial brush cytology, but as the coin lesion was suspected to be lung metastasis from cancer of the ascending colon, exploratory thoracotomy was performed. Based on the findings of the resected tumor, diagnosis of sclerosing hemangioma of the lung was made. The postoperative progress was satisfactory. |
