This is a case report of subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis with neutrophils caused by Sulindac. A 24-year-old Japanese female was admitted because of high fever associated with lymphadenopathy. Thirty-seven days before admission, she had a car accident and was prescribed Sulindac for her neck pain. Approximately 2 weeks after starting Sulindac, she noticed swelling of a cervical lymphnode and fever of 39.3℃. Laboratory findings on admission revealed lymphocytopenia and elevated LDH. Fever subsided 9 days after admission without any special treatment. Bacteriological, serological, hematological, and bone marrow examinations were all within normal limits. Lymphnode biopsy was consistent with subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis with neutrophils. Lymphadenopathy disappeared 2 months after admission. Sulindac 200 mg given orally resulted in a transient lymphocytopenia, onset of slight fever, and the cervical lymphadenopathy. This is the 4th reported case of subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis with neutrophils caused by Sulindac |
