| 内容記述 | In recent years, support for young carers has become a central issue in Japanese welfare policies, and local governments are required to understand the actual situation in each community to implement specific support measures. In this study, a web-based questionnaire survey of 515 high-school students in Higashiosaka City revealed the characteristics of young carers in this region. The percentage of young carers tended to be higher than the national average, and they were in charge of caring for older adults, though for short times but frequently. They tended to be stressed and worried and felt that the existing support measures did not meet their needs. Furthermore, differences were observed in stress and part-time work situations among carer households and other households. In addition, a reasonable number of high school students who were not identified as young carers also cared for their families. Despite the limitation of a small sample size, the findings of this study may help us re-assess what kind of high-school students need support as “young carers” in the future, considering the local context. | |||||||||
