The case of a 64-year-old man with severe Shy-Drager syndrome is reported here. He was bedridden because of marked akinesia, rigidity, ataxia and postural hypotension. After the administration of L-DOPA (300 mg/day) and L-threo-DOPS (600 mg/day), he gradually started to show an amelioration in akinesia and hypotension, that was remarkable after six weeks of the treatment, and he was able to sit and take food by himself. |
