We report a case of acute pancreatitis with hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES). A 33-year-old man was admitted to our hospital, because of abdominal pain. Diagnosis was acute pancreatitis with HES because of increased serum amylase and hypereosinophilia. He was treated with gabexate mesilate. Serum amylase was decreased and acute pancreatitis was improved. However, hypereosinophilia and other systemic involvements such as cardiac contraction abnormality, pulmonary involvement, splenomegaly, peripheral neuropathy and cutaneous involvement remained. To our knowledge, there has been no report of acute pancreatitis with HES. HES may play a role in inducing acute pancreatitis. |
