| 内容記述 | A case of Bartter's syndrome with polycythemia is reported. A 18-year-old male patient was admitted with general fatigue and hypokalemia. This patient was diagnosed Bartter's syndrome with hypokalemic alkalosis, hyperplasia of the juxtraglomerular apparatus, extremely high plasma renin activity, resistance of the pressor effect of angiotensin and hyperaldosteronism, but blood pressure was normal. As a feature unusual in this syndrome the patient had distinct polycythemia. The red cell volume. white cell count and platelet count were increased. The erythropoietic activity of the serum was normal. Bartter's syndrome was first described in 1962 by Bartter. In Japan, 34 cases with Bartter's syndrome were described in 1978. However, association with polycythemia is rare in this syndrome. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
