内容記述 | Binaural hearing contributes to enhancement of monaural hearing functions when both ears are simulaneously at work. Contingent negative variation (CNV) is an event related to potentials and can be used for objective audiometry by the use as an audiotory stimulant. Binaural summation and binaural fusion which represent the binaural integration capability, using CNV were examined. The subjects consisted of five healthy adults having no difference in audiometric CNV thresholds between the left and right ears. A clicking sound for stimulation, audiometry CNV threshold were measured. When the stimulation was presented monaurally and binaurally, there was a threshold difference of 5.3 dB. Thus, the binaural summation was verified by CNV. Filtered speech sound audiometry was carried out to choose speech sounds to be used for determining CNV. Bisyllabic words chosen were "BENI", "BASU", "HIZA" and "YAMA" all of the frequency of 1,700 Hz, and "BUSHI" of the frequency of 1,200 Hz. These filtered speech sounds were used for the measurement of CNV. CNV appeared in all the tests when the stimulation was presented bilaterally and simulaneously. This shows that the binaural fusion was proved by CNV. The present findings suggested that although there are some problems in clinical appreiciation, CNV can be useful in the evalution of the binaural fusion and diagnosis of central auditory disorders. | |||||||||
