Mucocele of the appendix, a relatively uncommon disease, is rarely complicated with intestinal intussusception. Twenty nine cases of mucocele with intussusception have been reported in Japan. A 48-year-old female with a chief complaint of abdominal pain was diagnosed with intestinal intussusception by a tumor. The operative findings revealed intestinal intussusception caused by mucocele of the appendix. We report this recently encountered case of intussusception caused by mucocele of the appendix. |
