内容記述 | This qualitative study investigates the dynamics of student leadership development in a Japanese high school. Using a framework of situated learning(Lave & Wegner, 1991)the research explores how student leadership is shaped by school culture and societal norms. Through in-depth interviews with four teachers, three key themes emerged. First, the study reveals that leadership roles should be accessible to all students, promoting inclusivity within the school environment. Second, it underscores the importance of extra-curricular activities since student leadership roles were self-initiated because they are not always readily assigned. Third, the findings suggest that student leadership is situationally bound, shaped by the specific context of the school and the broader cultural framework of Japanese society. By examining the perspectives of four educators, this study provides insights into the complexities of developing student leadership, emphasizing its flexible and culturally situated nature. These findings have implications for educational practices that aim to cultivate effective, context-sensitive leadership in students. | |||||||||
