内容記述 | The rat has had to be pre-warmed at over 34℃ for 10-15 min in order to increase the blood flow in the tail artery for measurement of the blood pressure by the indirect method, since the tail artery from the rat works as a radiative vessel. Only a few reports have described the effect of environmental temperature on the indirect measurement of rat blood pressure. In this experiment, we used a Ballman-type restrainer which permitted immediately the temperature effect to the rat in a box warmed with circulating hot air, and volume-oscillometric manometer (TK-370A, UNICOM). In the 12-month-old SHRSP (330±10g), very good correlations were observed between the two values of systolic blood pressure (SBP) measured by the direct and indirect methods at any environmental temperature between 26 and 38℃. In the same age WKY (389±11g), very good correlations were observed between the two values of SBP measured by the direct and indirect methods only in the range of 34 to 38℃. The measurements of heart rate (HR) were done with very good correlations between the two methods at any environmental temperature between 28 and 38℃ in both rat groups, although it decreased with an increase of environmental temperature and was stabilized in the range of 34-38℃. These findings indicated that the range of 34-38℃ was the most appropriate environmental temperature for the indirect measurement of BP and HR both in 12-month-old SHRSP and WKY. | |||||||||||||||||||||
