| 内容記述 | 年齢とともに起こる、筋肉の衰え（筋肉量の減少や筋力の低下）を引き起こすサルコペニアに対しては、現在のところ運動療法や栄養療法といった方法しかない。本研究では、サルコペニアに対する新たな治療法を確立することを目的とした。そのための方法として、骨格筋の萎縮や発育低下に関与すると考えられているタンパク質を標的として直接的な作用により下流へのシグナル伝達を抑制する新規の抗体作製と標的タンパク質やそのシグナル下流に存在するタンパク質に対して直接的に作用して抑制する新規化合物を探索するためのスクリーニング方法の確立と化合物の探索を行った。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Exercise and nutritional therapies are the main treatments for sarcopenia, which is age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass and simultaneous occurrence of muscle weakness or decreased physical function. The purpose for this study is to develop new treatments for sarcopenia. The approaches for this purpose are 1) to make new antibodies for the target protein, which is thought to be involved in skeletal muscle atrophy and hypotrophy, to suppress the signal cascade, and 2) to develop a screening method for and find compounds to directly suppress the target protein or the downstream proteins. | |||||||||
