| 内容記述 | In this article, I deal with the theory of tyranny by Leo Strauss (1899-1973), the German-American scholar who was one of the leading political philosophers of the 20th century. His disciples are called the Straussians, and they are influential not only in America but all over the world. Through a close reading of On Tyranny, I would like to examine the modes of existence of tyranny through the discussions of Xenophon, Strauss and Kojève that tried to determine the essence of tyranny. After clarifying the forms of tyranny both in ancient and in modern times, I would like to consider whether Strauss’s arguments are still valid in light of the problems of science and technology. | |||||||||
