内容記述 | Fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green fluorescence angiography were made in patients with Harada's disease using a Canon fundus camera and a scanning laser ophthalmoscope. Studies were then made of the limitation and usefulness of these two methods in the diagnosis and study of this disease. Since the digital still image obtained with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope has a poor quality, a sequential image processing system using a personal computer was used to obtain a clear digital still image by reducing the random noise. By this new method, called the average counting method, indocyanine green fluorescence angiography was found to be far superior to fluorescein angiography for the study of Harada's disease and its circulatory disturbance of the choroid. When the retinal detachment was evident, various sizes of non-fluorescent areas and narrowing of choroidal vessels with filling delay were detected because of their circulatory disturbances in the early phase of indocyanine green fluorescence angiography. Granular patterns of hyperfluorescence were also seen in the late phase by the average counting method. These findings became obscure when the retinal detachment disappeared by the steroid therapy. In the midperipheral part of the fundus, a number of patchy hypofluorescent areas remained to be seen for a relatively long period of time. In conclusion, indocyanine green fluorescence angiography was quite useful in the diagnosis and follow-up of Harada's disease. The use of the average counting method was mandatory for the improvement of quality of digital still images of a scanning laser ophthalmoscope. | |||||||||
